The Access TonnoSport Vinyl Roll Up is everything you could want in a truck bed cover and then some, all at a price that won’t break the bank. This sleek and stylish tonneau is made right here in the States, and it features an easy install and aluminum rails, as well as aluminum bows, which will not rust like steel rails and bows. Sitting just ½ inches above the truck bed, this baby is about as low profile as a soft truck bed cover can get. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better deal on a great truck bed cover than with this TonnoSport Tonneau Cover.
No time to read this whole article? Just want the quick and dirty dets? “Too long; didn’t read” you’re fav acronym? Don’t worry. We hear ya. Here’s our Midwest Aftermarket Bullet Point Breakdown of the Access TonnoSport Roll Up Tonneau Cover:
TonnoSport:
When it comes to strength and secure coupled with ease of access and all wrapped up to fit in your budget, the TonnoSport from Access and Agri-cover has you covered.
This baby has some great premium features all at a lower price than expected. And Agri-Cover manages to keep it all affordable while still manufacturing their products here in the United States. How do they do it?
Who said you can’t have something made in America and still have it be low price?
What we love about the TonnoSport, above and beyond the great price point, is just how she looks and sits on your bed rails.
When it comes to tonneau covers, some of the best things to consider when making a purchase are looks, how secure it will be, how easy that truck bed cover will be to use or fold or roll up, and just how you use your truck bed in the first place.
To start with the aesthetic, let’s talk about looks and style.
The first thing most of us do when we think about purchasing anything really, especially something that cosmetically alters the appearance of your truck, is think about how it’s going to look on your pickup. That’s a great place to start.
For me, while I love lots of different styles and types of tonneau covers, and can see the benefits of so many different ones, I just dig the style of vinyl roll ups.
Maybe I’m nostalgic, but it takes me back to when I was young. The first truck bed covers I ever saw were sleek vinyl roll up covers.
And that’s still what I want my truck bed to look like. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve had great use out of folding truck bed covers, seen some great retractables, but for the price and the style, I’ve come back to roll up covers every time.
And I want it to be the lowest profile I can possibly get on the style I want. And that’s yet another great feature of these TonnoSport covers from Agri-cover.
If you’re looking for a truck bed cover that looks like it belongs on the back of your truck, that sits low on your bed rails, and is super aerodynamic, look no further.
And that tailgate seal too is one of the lowest around.
So don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t start your tonneau cover search by considering how it is gonna look on your truck.
Next I consider other aspects like full bed access. When we in the industry use those words, we mean the ability to use the full length and depth of your truck bed with impediment.
Some truck bed covers obstruct some parts of your bed, even when you have them completely open or retracted. Folding tonneau covers get close, but the final panel almost always extends an inch or two back into the bed even when you’ve folded it completely up. And driving with the cover leaning against and blocking your view out your back window is unsafe and might even result in you getting a ticket. So really, they don’t provide “true” full bed access.
Retractable covers are great for security, and if you like that segmented style, then you’ll like the way they look. But you are never going to have full bed access with a retractable because the canister will take up a good portion of your truck’s bed, even when the cover is fully retracted inside of it.
So really, the only covers on the market that let you use your truck when you want or need to as though you didn’t have a cover on it are roll up covers like the TonnoSport.
Now you may be wondering whether or not you really need full bed access.
That really has to do more with how you use your truck bed. If you rarely have to load larger equipment or items into the back of your truck bed, then this might not be that big of a deal. We have other covers you could consider then if you’d like to see what other styles look like and have to offer.
But if you regularly are moving items that won’t fit underneath your truck bed cover, you should really think twice.
First, rolling up a soft vinyl cover is one of the easiest to operate on the market today.
Retractables are also pretty easy to use, but they require more of an investment, are harder to install, and they do not offer full bed access.
I always think about moving someone or even my own family when I consider getting a new truck bed cover. True, I try not to move all the time, and the wife and I have pretty much settled down. But we still have lots of family members and friends who could move at any time, and when our kids get a bit older, I’m hoping they will move out too. Keeping my fingers crossed there.
Well, when you’re trying to maximize loads to move someone a decent distance, you’re going to want full bed access. Plain and simple. There’s no arguing about it.
Next let’s consider rack storage systems. If you end up wanting to add on a ladder rack or bike rack--heck, even a kayak rack--you’re gonna need access to your pocket stake holes. Believe it or not, many types of tonneau covers block your stake pocket holes, meaning you need a special attachment or might not even be able to install any type of rack system.
This could be a big pain in the butt down the road when you find out your new rack storage system isn’t compatible with your tonneau cover.
I would also consider heavily the ability to do this install myself from the comfort of my home garage.
If you’re like me, and DIY projects are your thing, you aren’t going to want to pickup some foreign knock off or super complex tonneau cover that requires translation, an engineering degree, and a bunch of special tools to install.
The TonnoSport needs no special tools at all. And because Agri-cover uses their Tight Bite Clamp system, every install is also a no drill installation.
Finally, and for me this is big, I try to support American workers. These days I think we all too often gravitate towards the lowest possible price. And I get that. Gas ain’t free. But the fact of the matter is that while I’d like to get a deal on my new tonneau cover, I also want to know that I’m getting something that was quality made. If it is made here in the United States by American workers, I have the peace of mind of knowing I am supporting local workers just like myself and getting a product that is built to last, made here in the US of A.
If that’s not enough of a reason to consider picking up a TonnoSport today, then you need to have a good hard look at the images above, because this thing is very nice to look at and appealing too. This is a great, sleek cover that is affordable and built to last. What are you waiting for? Get your Access TonnoSport today!
