EGR Bolt On Look Fender Flares

A Bolt On Fender Flare that’s as Tough as it Looks

Whether you’re looking to get some Fender Flares because you like the look of them or you want to protect your paint job from whatever your tires might sling back at your vehicle, these Bolt Ons do both with style and durability. The Bolt On Look may be misleading though because there is no drilling required to install these flares. Rather the Stainless Steel bolts are there just for looks--for aesthetic purposes. These rugged fender flares rather install using factory holes and provided clips, so there’s no drilling into your vehicle to install them at all. Each set of fender flares is designed for your specific year, make, and model vehicle using advanced CAD software. EGR’s Bolt On Flares are made of super durable ABS plastic that is UV resistant and ultra durable. These babies are made to take the beating you don’t want the rest of your vehicle to take. And seeing as our tires, especially larger and wider ones, often throw everything from rocks and mud to ice and snow back at the side of your truck, a set of fender flares like these can come in great handy all year long. And since they are made from durable plastic, they are completely rust proof too. These fender flares could even prevent you from getting a ticket in the various States where it is illegal to have a tire that sticks out too far from your wheel wells. They add up to 2 inches of extension to cover your tire treads and prevent tickets and damage to the side of your vehicles and other vehicles too. So bare that in mind, should you need a reason to tell the misses as to why you picked up these sick fender flares. These matte black flares compliment most aftermarket and stock accessories, and if you want them to blend in with your regular paint job, you can always paint them after purchase as well to match. Covered by EGR’s limited lifetime warranty, you know these are backed by a company you can trust. Made right here in the States, EGR is based out of Ontario, California and manufacturers most of it’s products right here in the US. If you enjoy the rugged look of a bolt on fender flare, then these EGR flares are a great choice. Let’s dive into some of the details of these sick fender flares.

EGR Bolt On Look Fender Flares

Fender Flares come in a variety of styles, shapes, and finishes. Whether you like the rugged bolt on look of these EGR flares or you’re into the smooth DRT Buskwackers, the Extended super wide fenders or their small Street Style cousins, there’s a fender flare for you and your truck out there waiting. If you’re into old school chrome or new school matte black, or even color matching and custom paint jobs, again, there are great fender flares to match pretty much whatever you are looking for.

And no matter which you’d prefer, all these fender flares add style and tire tread coverage to your pickup truck. Let’s talk quickly about what great features these fine products provide.

One of best features is the most obvious: style.

Fender flares go over the top of your existing fenders, giving your truck a unique style, separating you from the other styles out there.

Whether you drive a Chevy Silverado or a Ram 1500, an F-150 or a Toyota Tundra, adding great fender flares onto your vehicle will set you apart from all the other pickups of a similar body style in your area. And for many of us, myself included, this is more than enough. I know that just the look of these Bolt On Flares from EGR is enough to sell me on them. I want to see them on my truck and see my fellow pickup owners’ mouths drop open. These pocket style flares look sick.

But the look alone isn’t the only reason to consider these bad boys. In fact, that’s just the beginning. It turns out that depending on where you live, you might actually need to pick up some fender flares to prevent yourself from getting a ticket.

Now in my neck of the woods, this is not very well known, so make sure you double check your local laws. But in many States, my own included, if you have wheels and tires that extend out from your truck, you are legally required to cover those bad boys up.

In fact, I can get a ticket if my tire treads extend out past my wheel wells. And the only way to fix this if you have aftermarket wheels and tires that are wider or have more offset than stock is to pickup a set of fender flares.

Now when I first heard this I thought this was just another example of our government run a muck of our rights. I mean, seriously?! I have to have flares if I’m going to have wider wheels and tires? Come on.

Then I thought about it. I mean, my tires that stick out past my wheel wells do look pretty sweet, but they would look even cooler with some sick fender flares over the top of them. Alright, so it passes the looks test.

What about the actual reason though for this law? I mean, the State isn’t forcing me to add on fender flares just cause they look better, right?

Nope. It turns out fender flares aren’t just about style after all. Rather fender flares prevent mud and rocks from hitting the side of your vehicles and other vehicles around you.

Think about the purpose of your wheel wells and mud flaps and wheel well liners. These products are all here to stop rocks, mud, muck, and even snow from getting caked up around your undercarriage and rocker panels. All of these hazards can lead to rust and damage over time.

Well, moving your tires out of the wheel well some isn’t going to suddenly stop this kind of stuff from happening. Rather now instead of just slinging snow and mud and rocks up into your wheel well liner and mud flaps, the tread of your tires that is outside of the wheel well will be aiming at the side of your truck, any vehicles next to you or behind you, and just about anywhere else because there’s nothing to keep that stuff down and inside the fender or wheel well.

That is unless if you install an aftermarket set of fender flares.

And there it is. The true purpose of fender flares. These aftermarket devices catch rocks and mud and the like and keep it in the fender or force it back down towards the ground. You might even think of Fender Flares as an extension of your wheel well.

And yes, it is true that in many States, you can get a ticket for having tire tread exposed outside of your wheel well without having fender flares over the top of it.

Please note too that this is true for most Jeeps as well when driving on the street.

So now that you know the technical reason why you need fender flares, and a great reason to tell your wife why you just have to have these sweet new pocket style bolt on fender flares from EGR. You’re welcome!
