As technology advances and improves, we see tons of innovations across the board from larger and better resolution televisions to faster Internet and better smart phones. But one of the few areas that hasn’t seen major advancement is camping technology. That is until James Pittman founded Pittman Products International came up with his patented truck bed air mattresses, the AirBedz line. To call it a game changer for campers and outdoors folks everywhere would be a major understatement.

And we’ve heard the haters. Well, I’ll just throw my cheap-o air mattress in the back of my truck. Sure. You do that. Let us know how well that goes.

The probably with most cheap air mattresses is that they don’t offer enough support so you end up sinking through them down to the floor and end up with a terrible night of sleep--and that’s if you’re lucky enough to get to bed in the first place. Couple this with the fact that most larger sized air mattresses won’t even fit in your truck bed because of the wheel wells, and you’ll pretty quickly realize that you need something else.

There’s no need for a plug or cord either. This baby runs off a rechargeable battery that can hold a charge for upwards of 3 months. And the integrated pump can inflate the mattress in under 3 minutes, and it even deflates this baby quickly too.

This baby does what it says it will do, and it does it well. I’ve never had a better night sleep on an air mattress in my life, let alone one in my truck bed.
